State Convention 2019

Twelve St. Ansgar FFA members participated in the State FFA Leadership Conference held at ISU in Ames on April 15-16. The St. Ansgar FFA team including Carina Blake, Carissa Blake, Alexia Retterath and Emma Retterath placed 4th out of 49 teams, with a gold rating, in the FFA State Biotechnology Career Development Event. 

 

This competition includes a general knowledge exam, an identification activity, and a team activity relating to agricultural biotechnology principles.

Sarah Phelps, Sam Hemann, Chloe Levan, and Sydney Patterson competed in the State FFA Farm Business Management event and placed 14th out of 85 teams and received a gold rating.

Chloe Levan, Emma Soltau, and Madi Soltau participated in the State FFA Band during the State FFA Leadership conference that was under the direction of Mr. Colin Zidlicky, the Instrumental music instructor at St. Ansgar Schools.

Three members of the St. Ansgar FFA chapter were awarded their Iowa FFA Degree at the State FFA Leadership Conference. 

Those members were Chloe Levan, Madi Soltau and Sydney Patterson. This is the highest degree of recognition that is given by the Iowa FFA Association
